Generally, it is a good idea in quests to NOT have back-and-forth between posters. As it tends to clog things up. Which is part of why discussion threads exist.

If you feel the need to reply to another post, it is wise to target only the presented ideas, not the one who posted it. i.e. "That is a stupid idea." NOT "You are stupid for having that idea." Definitely don't respond to people's comments on your posts, that way lies Big Dumb Arguments.

Contention is fine, disagreeing is fine. People are going to disagree, to have different ideas about where the quest should go. Just make your case, they'll make theirs. Maybe you change minds, maybe you don't.

Okay, I've had to delete a bunch of pointless bickering in the thread and I don't want to have to do it again.

If you're suggesting in this quest, or any quest, please treat each other with some respect. Also, I would like to emphasise the following:

Please do not keep an argument about posters going in a quest thread. If you must debate and yell at each other, for reasons related to the quest, take it to /questdis/. There's a reason this board exists, you know!

If you must debate and yell at each other for reasons unrelated to the quest, you're doing something wrong here. Go elsewhere, because pointless futile bickering gets posts deleted (or moved to BDA, a fate worse than deletion) on sight.

If someone is being rude and disruptive, the best option available is not to post in the quest thread and tell them how rude and disruptive they are being, but to report the post. This prevents cluttering up the thread with even more posts, and basically everything Abeo said is pretty legit.
