I'm just gonna put this here in case anyone happens to be interested in angsty art students.

So I'm curious to hear if there's anything that you guys have to say about your immediate impression of Art. Color me curious.

What strikes me immediately is that that is easily worse than the worst haircut I could ever imagine; and that angst stops being anything other than a huge deterrent to becoming interested once most people hit 20. I get the satirical angle, but still no for me. Good luck!

first of all, heyo fellow ccad'er. sometimes i wonder how so many of us end up on here without actually knowing each other

anyway, notes on the quest - i think something that i noticed first was that the rhythm and the give and take between you and the questers seems a little shaky right now. for example, within the first two panels, you created a situation where you basically shot down every suggestion people made; if your intent was for the first event in the quest to be for connor to talk to sean online, and you weren't going to let the questers have connor do anything else before that anyway, you should have just had that Happen immediately instead of saying "what will you do?" and then saying no to everything people responded with.

it's a mistake that's easy to make when you have the first few events of a quest already planned, and one that i know i've made plenty of times in my earlier quest attempts. for a quest to be successful, it's really important to get that balance down, and make sure that you're actually providing situations where questers can make meaningful suggestions instead of getting tugged along a string of preplanned events.

so!! that's my two cents. i hope you have a good time here, i've been around for like?? four years now and it's become a pretty big part of how i make art. quests are a great way to keep yourself consistently producing stuff on a day to day basis.

Oh lord, another kid from ccad? That's actually kind of scary, haha.

And yeah, I was reading the wiki that you guys have, checking out advice for how to run a quest and certain things to avoid, and looking back that was a sorta shitty way to go ahead with it. :P

Thanks for the advice, and if you happen to see a kid that looks like Connor, that's probably because this whole thing was supposed to revolve around real, mostly freshmen, at ccad. *whistles*

Yeah, my hair is pretty awful, no joke.

yep, and i'm not the only one, either! there have been at least two other distinct quest authors iirc besides you and me who were either ccad-bound, attending, or alumni, though i can't recall specifically who's who rn, and i only personally knew one of them. you can even see on some of my older quest updates that i had the same ID as you bc i was updating on ccad wifi, and i'll be back on it when i come back in the fall, lol.

For the 1% of you that cared, here's a super rough and ugly color reference for Connor.
