I plan on making a Battle Royale based one shot campaign setting using the Call of Cthulhu system.
Is this awesome? y/n

For those of you who don't know just watch this then watch the movie

Very yes. Very very yes. Got any specific plans, or is it going to be a pretty faithful recreation?

Basically going to be pretty faithful players but instead of working together the players will be pitted against each other (and no they won't need to work together.)
I will basically make a grid of the area with some locations of interest marked on it and players will have to navigate it. While they are moving I will roll for random encounters with other students.
If they get an encounter I will roll for how many they encounter and whether or not they are friendly.
At the end of each day I will roll to determain how many students got killed off. In the end there should be only the players and one NPC called the psychopath who is basically the BBEG (unless they killed him before hand)
In regards to the players each player will be given one of possible 50 weapons (one for each student)and the weapons will range from everything to an MP5 to a paper fan.
To keep things interesting each player will be given a side interest. This maybe they have a crush on someone in the class, they may be popular, or a nerd.
And the way sanity works into this well just watch the movie High School students are crazy.

Why are you using CoC for this?
Classroom deathmatch was designed specifically for this.
here, its even free over the internet. http://www.atarashigames.com/ghostshark/Classroom%20Deathmatch%20retail%201.pdf

Because CoC is a table top game and I really don't need to add that much to make it fun for the players. In the sixth edition book they have a ton of guns, poisons, and everyday objects. It's also a system me and my friends are familiar with and overall its well worked out. I also enjoy the sanity system because killing someone should take a massive toll on someones psychy.

And the system that Classroom deathmatch has is mainly a role-playing one CoC provides players with more options than just having one simple skill like intimidation.

Fair enough. Guess its all about where you want to focus on. CoC will definatly give you a more visceral experience. I wish you the best of luck with it.

I actually had a plan for doing this with d20 Modern, before I basically gave up on the system. Maybe I'll post it later to 'share the love' and all that.

Obviously, I'm going through ALL the old threads to see if any are to my interest.
