I made that macro over thousand years ago when tgchan was all fresh and new.

There were always furries in the "liking fantasy creatures and probably fapping to them" sense here, sure.
People with actual, unironical fursonas who are in the actual furry-lifestyle are an more recent development.

Dasaki is the worst and is new. There may have been people with fursonas since the beginning or almost the beginning (and I think that this was the case) but it is not something that folks have discussed much before recently.
