This takes place one year after the events of Tezakia Quest, and several months after Jiniki's Journey. It's not required to read either quest, but they provide a lot of backstory for what's going on.

Maybe you can get Jiniki to mess with the majicka so that it applies long-life to two people without any real power. Dilia and you could have extended lifespans, but wouldn't really gain anything else?

It really sounds like what you want is long life, not necessarily powers.

Talk to Tayza and Jiniki. Tayza has crazy healing powers, and Jiniki has crazy magicka control powers (and knowledge). Between the two of them, maybe they can figure out a way to extend your life (and Dilia's) without you becoming Magibeasts yourselves?

If not, Jiniki is a great person... err, bug to talk about the transformation with. She (with the emotional support of Sekani and Dilia) can probably help guide you into becoming a relatively sane Magibeast. But getting her opinion on things - especially on how hard or easy it might be to retain your personality after transformation - is probably an important thing. You should talk with her before making any final decisions.

If you don't drink it then you risk dying first and leaving behind two sad people whose relationship with each other had been built around you.

If you're blessed with a long life, you could become the last important person inevitably torn from Sekani's life by an uncaring universe, leaving him with the knowledge that should he ever manage to find anyone he loved as much as you that they would be taken from him in the same way.

Alternatively, you could drink up and save Sekani the worry of you leaving him, and still enjoy Dilia's inclusion in your relationship until she passes on and joins those awaiting her in the afterlife.

That's an interesting way of looking at it. If Amiel uses the majicka, then she will prevent Sekani from losing BOTH Dilia and Amiel at around the same time. If she doesn't use it, then she gets to grow old with Amiel... that's the only benefit.

This isn't just about choosing which of the two to grow old with. It's also choosing who has to grow old without someone.

It makes sense to use the majicka in some manner. It benefits the most people.

Also, something I'm not sure of- how long will Dilia live WITHOUT majicka? What are your estimated lifespans right now?

Amiel, whichever way you choose, your family still deserves to know everything that's happened to you; The fight with Iiji, your feelings towards Sekani and Dilia, all of it. Pour your heart and soul out into that letter, recording, or whatever form your message takes. If you ever hope of seeing them again on decent terms, this is your first step, majicka or no.

If you do choose the majicka, you're going to want a record of your transformation. It will show to anyone, that whatever form you take, you are still Amiel. That you chose this yourself, of your own free will. And it should be recorded for posterity anyway. You could very well be the last person to take majicka for a long, long time; Possibly forever.

As for outliving your family, well... It's good odds you would have outlived your mother anyway, and have a high chance of outliving your brother, if he was born before you. However, if you take the majicka, you could be there for your neices and nephews, and their children, and their children's children, and beyond. You wouldn't outlive your family, even with majicka, as long as you're part of it.

You have the secret to near immortality AND superpowers there and you're considering not drinking it? I mean if you don't want it we could always try auctioning it to the richest couple of people on the planet and make the GDP of a small nation, because there are certainly people who would give literally anything for this chance that you're questioning.

Shela-- Iiji threw Magic Johnson into a random portal, so he probably died when he couldn't find anything biological to live on.

>...There's no way to split that majicka into two effective doses, right?
>So what happens if you just take a little? Say... half of it?
"...So I was wondering if the dose could be split in half, between two random people. Hypothetically."

"don'd dalk sho loud..." Tayza says.

"Did you forget to drink water?"

"shud ub. i dhoughd i could majicka id bedder."

"...But you can't cure poison. I think hangovers count."

"arrrggghhh fiksh me ub already you sdupid robod."

"THE_MAJICKA_COULD_BE_SPLIT_PRETTY_EASILY," Grasshopper says, apparently not acknowledging Tayza. "HOWEVER_THIS_IS_A_LOW_GROWTH_VARIANT. UNENHANCED ITS_EFFECTS_WOULD_BE_LESSENED_BUT_THERE_IS_NO_REASON IT_WOULD_NOT_WORK."

"I see... um, speaking of random questions that have nothing to do with me, is it possible for you to make someone live longer without them taking majicka, Tayza?"

"What? Ow..." "(I could probably give you a few more years, but I can't make you stop aging. No more talking until I get my medicine.)"

"MY_DATABASE_CONTAINS_SEVERAL_INHIBITORS_DESIGNED_TO_LENGTHEN
THE_LIFESPAN_OF_KLISKHAR_BY_20_PERCENT. IT_MIGHT_BE_CAPABLE_OF
MODIFICATION_FOR_OTHER_SPECIES," Grasshopper says at its normal loud volume.

"(Damn it robot I'm making you my next prey.)"

If they get some researchers to help Grasshopper, it's likely possible they could live a good bit longer. That doesn't really help her decision, but it's nice to know Dilia could be around longer...

Amiel decides to leave Tayza to her misery and give talking to Sekani and Dilia another shot.

"...You say I should do what I want, but would you really be okay with me dying years before you do?" Amiel asks.

"T-there's no reason to think about that. We'll have plenty of time together."

"That's easy to say now. I will probably die when I'm Jiniki's age, and she's yet to leave childhood. I'll be gone before you even hit middle age."

"I'll... find a way to deal with that. If you don't want to take it, don't do it for my sake."

"What if I do take it and it turns me into a different person?"

"I don't think that will happen. Majicka lowers our inhibitions, and the transformation can bring out the worst in us, but we don't just become someone else. We've all gone through the change and stayed the same people."

"What about Dilia?"

"She changed because she wanted to. You aren't planning on asking Majicka to remove your memories like she did, right?"

"I... no, but what if it's like last time? Majicka made me do some terrible things."

"Last time was different. Majicka was forced on you by a ...whatever that thing was. This time, you'd be taking a weaker, non-sentient majicka and it'd be by choice. As long as you want to stay who you are, you'll be fine. And we'll be there to help you through it."

Sekani looks away and sighs. "…But if you don't want to take it, then don't. And definitely don't do it for my sake."

Amiel can tell by the tone of his voice that Sekani wants her to take it so they can be together all their lives. It's probably taking everything he has not to beg her to do it. Everyone calls him a crybaby, but Sekani can be strong when he has to be. Not once has he insisted she change her life for him, and she's grateful for that. It's one of many reasons she knows their relationship will last.

"I... I'm going to talk to Dilia. I'll let you know what I'll do after that, okay? Sorry for making you wait so long on this."

"It's okay. I know it's a hard decision."

"That's sweet, thanks. I'm glad we got everything worked out..."

"...Is something wrong?"

"Still thinking about the majicka thing. It... it doesn't have to be just me, you know. We could each drink half. We could be awesome ice monsters."

"Oh... sweety, I don't want to become a Ki-jaara again. I still regret what I did the last time I got that stuff in me."

"Last time you asked to have your memories erased. You can keep them this time, still be you."

"Even if I kept my memories, I'd still be changed. I doubt Tayza was quite so 'alpha'-minded before, and Jiniki used to kill people; She didn't even realize it was wrong. Even Sekani's different now. He was scared to death when we first met, but now look at him."

Amiel thinks she has a chance of changing Dilia's mind, but she doesn't want to pressure her. She needs to be a good girlfriend like Sekani.

Dilia doesn't want it. There are a lot of things worth convincing someone of, but something this drastic? I don't think it's worth deciding for her when she's already chosen. No matter what, you'll be with them both for a long time, but for Sekani at least, you have an opportunity to be with him for centuries, or even forever if you're there in time for the right science. If you do this all in a controlled environment, nothing bad will come of it, and yet you will reap immeasurable good. Not to mention that the world might need a protagonist party again sometime in the future, and one more can't hurt.

It sounds like it's coming down to a single question.

Do you WANT to be an awesome ice monster? Honestly Jiniki's behavior can be easily explained by the fact that she was a little kid. Little kids don't understand death and pain very well, and their mothers have a LOT LOT LOT of influence on their behavior. Tayza and Sekani's changes can be explained by the fact that they became awesome, and thus gained confidence in themselves. Honestly, Sekani barely changed at all. You might change because you'd be stronger, but I doubt majicka will outright change your personality if the process is done right and for the right reasons.

Besides, remember what you did last time, even when you asked for the most corrupting thing- power. Hmm. What if you asked the majicka specifically for some way to help Dilia live longer?

Just out of curiosity, what is Dilia afraid might happen to her?

... because maybe this is something we should worry about for ourselves. And if this is a big deal, let's get Sekani in and ask him if he feels Magicka changed him at all, and if so, whether or not he feels those changes were worth it.
>>
No. 384343 ID: 063c28

As far as you yourself are concerned, remind yourself of everything previously discussed in >>375578 .

As far as Dilia goes, it's her decision. Think about how she feels about the affair. She has powerful negative associations with it, and if she does take it, she'll have a hard time getting past a constant worry that she might hurt someone again.

But don't let her concerns drag you down. Magicka cannot be responsible for every single change anyone has gone through.
People going power-mad like Shela is a known phenomenon for entirely mundane reasons, and won't be a problem for any of you thanks to the large group of equally strong friends you know you can rely on to check and balance eachother—in fact, your own participation will help ensure that.
Jiniki had been led astray by her own mother, in whom she had ultimate trust—and even then, when her error was presented to her, she realized and accepted this, and modified her behavior accordingly.
Sekani's newfound strength and confidence is regular growth of maturity and a result of having been tested by a challenging situation and having suceeded.
Tayza has simply finally attained what she long wanted, and is no longer forced by physical weakness to be anything but truly herself.
And finally, Dilia accepts her responsibility for her actions. This is part of why she fears returning to Magicka.

You know you can handle this. Even under the influence of Johnson you were able to keep your priorities straight, and simple non-sentient magicka will pose no such threat to your self control.

Dilia is afraid she will repeat her earlier errors and hurt people. She's since overcame the motivations that caused that in the first place, though, so her concerns may well be unfounded. Even so, it's her place to decide; pressuring her to make a decision will just put unnecessary strain on the relationship we only just now finally began to stabilize, and it is better that Dilia be gone after a normal, happy, lifetime, than that she spend centuries with you under duress.
>>
No. 384347 ID: 369d34

Amiel, you don't have to force the issue. Take half the majicka, if you want to, and leave the other half for Dilia, if she wants it. If she doesn't ever want it, then take the other half yourself. Or not, if you don't want more.

Oh, if you do take it, it might possibly cure your colorblindness. You can ask Grasshopper about that later.

In fact, Dilia might prefer that we take it all, in the interest of not leaving any temptation. We should ask her which way she'd prefer, since dooming her to an early grave is fairly serious business.
>>
No. 384362 ID: d6ae01

Teasing option: Dilia is afraid of losing her hands again. Offer to help her with that, as long as you don't lose yours, too.

Serious option: Tell her you'll just drink half and let her hold on to it like you've been holding onto the jar. She can decide what to do with it in good time.

"Jinki's mentally five years old. She thought she was helping people. All Majicka did was give her power and keep her innocent.
Sekani changed for the better, in the end. Don't get me wrong, I loved his old self just as much, but he's happier now. He has confidence, and he's more in control of himself.

I've decided I'm going to drink half of this, and save the other half for you. You can see how it changes me, and decide for yourself.
Does that sound ok?"

Get her and Sekani into one of your bedrooms, lock the door, drink your half, and stay together until the changes are complete. Sexytimes optional.
>>
No. 384373 ID: a00410

Grasshopper say's the half dose option will work then do it. You look like your mind is nearly made up to do it already. If you leave the other half for Dilia she can deiced later. In fact seeing you come through your transformation alright might be a better argument in favor of her joining you than words.

Every one is right pressuring her is wrong. But you really have time on your side here.

You really need to take it yourself what ever happens. Sekani said don't do it for his sake. But it's going to eat at him that he will loose you to age while he's still young. If you really love him then that pain he feels will torment you. If you want to be happy it the only real viable solution.

In time Dilia will see that too.

No. 384424 ID: 34b49a

If it were split, would both halves be equivalent to the whole? Can you take more after you already have it? We don't want to split it and still have Dilia decline, and then find out that we've made ourselves unable to have the full effect. Dilia is already against her having any, so we should just not take any risks and drink it all. As for being corrupted and all that I think a lot of it was because of Iiji influencing people and the one you got having a mind of its own.

I definitely agree that we need to check to make sure splitting it and taking half later won't damage it or reduce its effectiveness, but if that turns out not to be the case then I think that doing this might be a better option than what I previously voted for. If not then I still say drink it all.

Actually, I had a thought: We were able to find two majicka creatures and drain one of them after less than a day of aimlessly wandering the nearby desert. If we actually do routine missions we might be able to find more. And we do still have the labs here and a good deal of the notes, we might even be able to... no, that one sounds too much like the backstory to the original quest to be safe.

Oh huh, missed this.

Seconding/thirding/whatevering the talk about talking with Jini. And Delkin too. As skewed as his opinions may be, that doesn't mean his insight can't be useful. I'm pretty sure those are the only active Kijara still wandering around though. There's been a lot of good advice in the previous comments, but I'd still like Jini's and Delkin's thought's before making a final decision. And, uh, anyone else who is/was a kijara for a signifficant period of time.

As for Dilia… don't press the issue at all. Hug her and say you won't force her at all. And that you'll still need to think about it a little more yourself now that she's declined.

Oh, and if you're going to talk to your parents, you should probably do it before downing Mr. Green-Jar-Turned-Blue-Jar. Preferably via skype or whatever equivalent you guys have, but make sure you guys can see each other. I know how important it is to you to resolve things with your family, so you should do it.

"I don't think they changed because of majicka, not directly," Amiel says. "Jiniki was just a child who believed what her mother told her was right. She's since learned to think for herself. We all go through that growing up. Tayza was always headstrong, from what little she's said about her past. It sounded like they had to tie her down to keep her in a hospital bed. Majicka gave her freedom, and underneath her anger you can tell she's very happy.

"Sekani... I don't think Majicka alone is why he's more confident and brave now. He went through so much a year ago and got stronger for it. I saw him learn and grow into who he is now, and majicka had nothing to do with it."

"Maybe... but I'm not strong like they are. I couldn't handle it again."
