That's right, fans. Tonight, right across Votec, we have a special fight for you. Instead of our regular combats, we bring to you this special match. Our champion, Vender 'Skyward' Felm, will face not one, not two, but three Generics!

Who will come out on top?

Okay, so although technically separate from the story of an upcoming quest of mine, this will hopefully allow you to understand the combat mechanics of "Razorback," and maybe offer a little insight into the setting itself. It'll also allow me to identify any flaws I might've overlooked when designing it.

Well, mister 'Skyward,' you've a big night ahead of you! But before you go out there and finally get turned into peanut butter, you gotta choose a funeral suit. I like the one on the left more, but I'm well aware that I don't have any say in the matter. The quicker I get out of your head the better.

Remember, you have only 100 units of carrying capacity!

Now you gotta grab a couple of guns! You aren't grand champion because you made a lot of friends, are you?!

What? They're only giving you solid ammo weapons tonight? Ahahah, this is great!

Better choose something that compliments that suit of yours. Remember not to exceed 100 units or you'll give yourself a hernia. Actually, go right ahead!

Ooh, decisions, decisions!

I do all the dice roly-poly privately.

Hmm. I'm thinking the heavy armor, with the sub machine gun and either the shotgun or assault rifle, leaning on assault rifle.

What's the terrain like, and how far apart do we start? It makes a rather huge difference in appropriate weapon selection.

Heavy armour, shotgun and SMG. We're going to take this fight right up into their faces and then blast away their dicks with hot lead.

By the looks of things, you'll be fighting here tonight. What's it say on the description?

"The Archipelago is one of the most beautiful arenas we've created to date. Three medium islands separated by crystal clear water -- it's a shame you'll be too busy soaking bullets to soak up the sunlight."

How charming.

Specifications:

3 Islands, of mostly equivalent size.
Entire Arena area: 500 square meters.

+Good visibility
-Not much cover

Base your load-out decision on this if it helps you.

Heavy armor, SMG and Assault Rifle.

In an environment with little cover, the heavy armor will be much more useful.

Seems like the best way to go about it with the lack of cover. Damn it, I really wanted that shotgun.

I would recommend an assault scope for your rifle, if not replacing it with a sniper rifle altogether.

My recommendation would be to take the SMG for emergencies, but for your main weapon grab a sniper rifle, get yourself to the edge of the arena, lie down or crouch to minimize your profile while increasing stability, then shooting everything that moves in the head. Think you can pull that off?

So, the AR and the SMG, eh? Damn, I was hoping you'd have gone in there unarmed.

Zap!

And it begins! Woo, yeah everyone! Lets cheer for this chimpanzee right here! When you're quite done being egged on by these morons, you have some dying to do.

Since I'm obliged to offer tactical information to you, curse my creators, I must inform you that all enemies have been placed as far away from you as possible without actually being dropped into the water.

I'm picking them up on Island 2 (you're on island 3) and - no, wait; one of them is on island one, and they're moving in at a reasonable pace.

What's your course of action, 'Skyward?'

create distance from island 2, train on island 1, AR it up !

Go take position at a ridge prone, just peeking over, and peer through the AR scope to check out their what their equipment is. Try to be stealthy. As much as you can be in that armor, anyway.

Take a look if you want. I'm, yet again unfortunately obliged to tell you that they are equipped all in medium armour; the kind you turned down. Two of them have assault rifles and one has an SMG.

It'd be funny if they got you.

The one standing out in the open like an idiot? After you're done killing him, pop a few shots at the guy behind the rock to try and keep him in cover, and look around for the third guy quick.

lets turn the guy in the open into a practical demonstration on the importance of cover.

Bang bang! Ahahaha!

You got him, right in the throat! That still leaves two more chances of you leaving this place through a meat-chute.

find the third one. we have good cover against the one we can see but the third one may have a clear shot.

Sprint towards the one with cover and unload when he goes to aim and fire at you. We can use his cover to figure out where the last one is.

This. Make sure he ain't sneaking up.

>>367724
The reason we killed that one guy so easy was because he was OUT of cover. Let's not break cover ourselves unless we've got clear reason to, huh?

Circle around the guy hiding behind the rock, you should be able to keep out of sight considering all the dunes.

Send a few shoots at the one who was in cover to keep him down. Then withdraw and start looking for another firing position. You're not supposed to stay at one you have already used.

Suppress the other one then try to flank him. Keep an eye out for the other one.
