"Sable, I understand you're on an important mission right now but I think -you- can understand why I refuse to let you spend the night in my city."

"My memory is a little fuzzy, do tell."

"You came barging into my city wounded and flirted with all the healers trying to take care of you."

"I did no such thing."

"Yes, yes you did. Not only that but you attempted to make a pass on me. I will never forget that for as long as I live. Now I ask you again Sable Dispo. Why should not simply kill you where you sit?"

Well Guardian, glad to have you back. She refuses to give me the key to the inn. A little help here?

Good to be back. Umm... how obvious of a pass are we talkking here? You might be able to argue that were were simply being Very Friendly, and you Did Not Know Any Better and certainly had no Intent To Offend anyone.

Or if was too dumb to play dumb... tell her you are far too Passionate to die, and that if you are left to Wander the City or it's Outskirts you may unintentionally cause Further Problems Of An Amorous Nature. The Safest Thing is to be isolated indoors and monitored closely out of contact with those you may respond inappropriately to.

Because that is one of the most insane reasons to kill a person I've ever heard?

"Because that would ruin a perfectly good evening before it even got started.
If you don't trust me to stay in your city, then how about I stay where you can personally see to my behavior?"

Who is this person? Who does the S over her heart represent? Is she married? Have you fathered any children here?
We need details. Lots and lots of details.

Don't worry guys, she won't really kill me. See, Dark Elves have this thing where they tattoo the first letter of the name of someone they like on them. I'm gonna go on a limb and say she put that S on her chest after she met me.
She's just really proud. I need to push the right buttons here and I'll get that room.
And a possible Roommate.

He sits next to her.

"You know killing someone simply because they find you beautiful is a little extreme."

"Silence. I'm not killing you because of your perverted feelings. I'm going to kill you because wherever you go you simply cause chaos. You're immature and unlikely to ever change. Simply put I do not trust you as far as I can throw you."

"Well If you don't trust me enough to stay in your city, then how about I stay where you can personally see to my behavior?"

"S-Silence. I can see past your feeble attempts at flirtation. I'm not as simple minded as some of my guard and medics are."

Which is what makes her worth being with right now, of course. How about something like... "Of course you aren't, that's why I'm here and not out messing around. Flirting with you is nice because you can see exactly really what I mean. You see what's past that, which is that I am actually a nice guy and I honestly like to be with you and if I say you're smart and strong and beautiful you know I'm saying it because it's true. It's... a kind of trust, you see?"

OH SHIT SABLE I FORGOT.
Check for any magical residues, or anything that was left after your fight with the Shadow Dragon. He's the kind of guy who doesn't stay down. He might try to live on in some way.

Hmm? Guardian, we're on our way to go fight the dragon now.

"Why of course not. Your beautiful body is matched with an equally beautiful mind. I know you can see past any lies I would make and notice that all I am saying to you is true."

"I'm not falling for it Sable."

"Fine, you can rest outside my room, I know Dark Elves have very sensitive hearing.."

He gently pulls on her ear.

"Nnn.. I'm n-not letting you stay in my city you fool. L-leave now."

All right, finally got my room. But I think I'll be crashing at Minerva's house tonight.
This little place is mostly women and she's not really into that kind of thing.
400 years of pent up sexual frustration finally relieved. I think she'll reward me in the morning for this. In the meantime I can't sleep and the shadow dragon's lair isn't too far from here.
Of course there's also plenty of other people in this settlement.

Ok, you go and leave your son a half-sibling he can meet when he eventually wanders over here while we go back to scrupulous plotting for the-

>>285703
Wow, ok, you work fast.
Go get some powerful magical healing items to leave outside the dragon's lair; you know, the kinda stuff that can rescue you from the brink of death but leaves you helpless while it's working.
This is a dragon, and if you have to fight it then you're probably not going to be able to walk away afterward. That means your best chance for survival is to keep powerful healing close enough that you can crawl, pull, or push yourself to it, but far enough away that it won't be damaged or destroyed in the fight.

Oh, also, see if you can convince a soul magic user to come with you to cover the lair's entrance while you fight, and to do whatever is needed when the fight is over.
>>

that... covers just about everything.

First of all Guardians I don't have the money for such a item, and I doubt it even exists.
Second I have the Dragon Slayer! I'm pretty much set. I mean come on, it slays dragons and that's what I'm going up again. I can't think of a better combo.
No need to bring any of these lovely ladies with me, I'm sure I'll be fine.
>>
No. 285709 ID: 75d7a9

well, at least put a healing potion or two outside, in case it get's a lucky hit.

>>285708
1: You don't have the cash to NOT get powerful healing items. Go get healing items.
2: Exactly how many dragons has that dragon slayer slayed? Zero? Yea. Take a look at your left shoe. That's as much a god-killing shoe as your sword is a dragon slayer. Your sword is a sharpened piece of metal; any claims beyond that are to be assumed bullshit until proven otherwise.
3: Ok, if you're too much an idiot to respect caution, then think of how nice it would be to have them there to 'nurse your wounds' after the fight.
4: It's a shadow dragon; don't fight it when it's dark out, wait till daytime instead.
5: Take a sleeping potion or something. Going into battle tired is the mark of a rank amateur.

If you have all the stuff you need, all that is left is prepare yourself and steel your resolve. Why are you doing this, what is worth risking your life against this dragon? And don't give me shit about orders.

That is a sweet sword though.

Ugh... I already got some potions okay? I'll be fine, I've taken out freaking behemoths before.
This thing had better be a legit sword though...

I doubt they'd give me a fake though.

>>285712
I know right?

>>285714
Well first off I would be a legend if I managed to kill this thing. People would sing my name on the streets, women would throw themselves at my feet and men will look up to me as their role model.

Also this mission pays well and if we managed to take out the Tiger Folk's guardian we'll be that much closer to winning this fight.
>>
No. 285719 ID: 75d7a9

why would the shadow dragon be the tigerfolk guardian? from the fact it is near here i would think it was the dark elf guardian.

>People would sing my name on the streets, women would throw themselves at my feet and men will look up to me as their role model.
You mean they aren't already? You've been slacking, boy! But I guess being a womanizer before a hero will do that. I wonder how many illegitimate kids you have out there, and of how many half races! You should have been working on spreading your name more than your seed.

Whoa, wait, hold on, you're going to kill a dragon over THAT? You're a horrible person.

Moving right along, giving you a useless sword is easy. If you kill the dragon then they can claim the sword did it. In the much more likely scenario where you die then you obviously wouldn't be able to do anything about the sword being a piece of crap.

Lets see, what else... Behemoths are mostly harmless. Killing them is more about being able to smack hard enough for them to feel it and being able to kill them before you die from exhaustion trying.
Dragons, on the other hand? One of those could level Central and be utterly bored the entire time.
We have seen things beyond your wildest dreams and most terrible nightmares. Even the worst of these would pause and second-guess themselves if they found themselves in conflict with a dragon.

Sable, if you don't bring powerful healing and a friend to aid you after the fight then you are going to die. I say this in total sincerity and absolute certainty. We might, might be able to help you slay a dragon, but if you don't die in the process you still won't survive without help.

You need medical supplies for the physical wounds that you will suffer.
You need a soul made to heal the damage the dragon will inflict on your very soul - and the resulting fate that will make you curse the dead with envy.

Stop being stupid. Do what we say.
