I have a plan to buy adspace on MSPA since I do nothing else to contribute. I think this may be cool in the long run though in the short run we may be flooded with retards. Unfortunately I am not made of banner-making skills, so people should make banners for tgchan and I will provide the money.

Who are you and what gives you the right to advertise tgchan?

Why would we want to advertise Tgchan? We're not trying to sell a product or anything that would need as mutch people as possible.

There is no need to try and scramble for new people. There are a lot of quests being run, with enough suggestions. The two IRC channels are always full of people.

We get enough people from word of mouth already. This way we also get more of the people who would be enthusiastic about this kind of thing, instead of just random people just following a witty banner.

Why should not everyone have the right to expend their own money for the common good?

>>17150
Nobody actually calls it that. But you could make an ad that uses that name if you felt so inclined, it's not like anyone's going to stop you. I don't know if the advertisement allows multiple different banners on rotation or if Princess Ginger Drifter will have to select one, but I doubt that name choice would prevent the banner from being selected in the latter case.

>>17152
Advertising is hardly mandatory, but if someone's willing to front the cost, there's no real reason not to advertise. Growth is not likely to be harmful, and more quests is a good thing even when we have quite a few already. More suggesters enables quests that might otherwise die to instead prosper.

I think it's a waste, but if someone feels like doing it, more power to them.

I hear ya, cyberbro. I still come here through http://www.tgchan.com/

You know, some people said the same thing when we proposed creating a /general/ board here, shows how right they were.

I don't have a problem with people advertizing the site outside (as long as the money to fund it doesn't come out of my pocket, HEH). The site getting more users is a cool thing, new authors, the current quests get more suggestions, new readers, etc.

Also tgchan.org is the canonical domain, and I say that with all the authority of a relative newfag.

What the hell are you talking about? It's quest.lv.

I drew a splash page and everything for it. Then I ran a quest with the character in that splash page. Bungee Grapple Adventures is the canonical quest of quests-

what what happened to my splash page what's happening why does it just show the old tgchan ones now mine is gone altogether oh god my conceptions of reality and the world around me are crumbling whyyyy

Ahem. Backpedal is go. And it's for this exact reason that we're clearly tgchan, because all of the domain names redirect to splash pages with "tgchan" in them. Durrr. See? Anyone could figure this out. Backpedal process complete.

Also (because there's no edit post button), related to the topic at hand, consider the audience you would be attracting.

People who read MSPA.

Take ten minutes to read the contents of the MSPAFA subforum in the MSPA forums and realise exactly what this would mean.

Yes. I thought you'd realise why this is a bad idea. Consider that one of the most successful things going on there is emigrating to its own site. Just saying.

Don't fret guys, there's still the all-star furfag mod-staff to protect you from fursecutors.

But serious, anyone who thinks there's a way this community could get any worse is insane.

If you dislike it so much, why not just leave? This isn't a "love it or leave it," thing. I'm saying, if you think this place literally is the worst that a place can be, why would you not be in another place?

Anyway, communities need new blood or else they curl up and slowly die.

Do you literally monitor threads to see if someone dislikes this place so you can tell em to get out?

Take a moment to think about this: A major part of our community comes from 4chan and a few furry sites like lulz.net and furaffinity.

Now, if you didn't know this, and someone said (here, or in any online community) "Hey guys, let's bring folks from 4chan, lulz and furaffinity to our site!", what would be the general reaction?

Ffffffuuuuuuuuck no!

So the MSPA folks don't have to be so bad, and it's easy to see to any minimally inteligent person that suggesting here doesn't work like over there.

Tl;dr U guys are exaggerating, bringing new people in isn't the end of the world.

That is kind of extrapolating wildly from a single point of data.

I was assuming that you hang out on the site enough to make a claim like that in the first place, but I guess not?

Wouldn't donating to the server fund be more fun? No? Okay good luck with the ad thing.

Okay so this is me eating my words. Nom nom nom. They taste bitter and resentful, as to be expected.

Have an ad graphic. I was requested to make one. Here's an argument against using it. The argument is the ad graphic.

I'm planning to advertise Lunar Quest on a few Exalted forums when I start it again. That would bring some more people to this site in general, but I think the Exalted fanbase would probably be pretty compatible with the place.

It seems ridiculous to not include the site's mascot in the banner, when Seal so carefully constructed it to represent us and everything we stand for.

Despite the explicit homosexual content, I still wish the fellow behind that quest would continue.
Because there just aren't enough opportunities in life to be both a wealthy-as-fuck dragon and a cut-throat businessman at once. I'm eager to see how he pulls it off.
