I'm shoved and tumble back over a large pipe resting at ground level, narrowly avoiding the blade as it comes slicing through the back wall. My leaf wasn't so lucky. The wall is swiftly cut to pieces and falls back into a chamber behind it.

:Maskedman: "Mine apologies. T'was not mine intent to ambush thee. Though slaying tis indeed what I had in store for thee."

What the hell is going on here?

This room is oddly empty for the entrance to R&D. It could be a trap, baited with the DISTRESS BEACON. Start checking it by pulling down the grate in the ceiling, to see if anyone is hiding there to ambush you.

That thing directly above the door looks like some kind of tube. Can you grapple up there and cut a hole in it?

The grate is firmly attached to the ceiling. I find myself being pulled up from the floor before it shows any sign of coming loose. I would need some manner of anchoring to remove it.

>>463553
An initial scan shows no signs of traps.

>>463748
It appears to be a manner of VENTILATION SHAFT. I do not fit particularly well in VENTILATION SHAFTS, they tend to lend themselves for more petite ninja.

>>463549
The door is shut firmly. It does not seem to open from this side.

Show that doors cannot stop you! Use the Heat Oar to melt the sides off and kick this one down too.
>>
No. 464162 ID: b6edd6

The large grate looks at about as thin as the doors before all the holes in it, so if you grappled to the ceiling next to it you could probably just cut your way in.
Doors are for schmucks! (Especially around what is very likely a trap of some sort.)

Now that I think about it, the Tengu robot probably has a Heat Sword too, since it just sliced open that wall.

Damn he knocked your heat oar away. It also looks like it cut the lock. Do you think it would be a good idea to funnel him down a hallway so he can't dodge or do you think his wind attack would just tear you apart if you did that, cause if you think it would be a good idea use the oar to force the door open a book it and if that is a stupid plan your probably going to want that back anyway
>>
No. 505535 ID: 2a8a2a

Get your heat oar, then try to go for its wings. It presumably needs those to fly, and they extended past its reach with the fan.

It occurs to me that it has been quite some time since I updated this quest and perhaps a slight recap is in order. Manewis is on his way to the R&D wing in search of his partner K.U.N.O.-01. Manewis' inventory consists of; KUNAI LAUNCHER, SHURIKEN-LAUNCHER, MOMOTARU-SENSEI'S KATANA, CLAYMORE MINE, TRIP WIRE, GRAPPLE LAUNCHER WITH MAGNETIC HEAD.
>>505460
Manewis is incapable of performing the Wall Jump maneuver. He is, instead, capable of performing 3 rapid, short range teleports, but this maneuver drains a portion of his POWERCELL. When is POWERCELL is depleted, he will shut down again.

>>505470
It is more that he knocked me away from the HEAT OAR. It remains lodged in the door I was attempting to cut through. The door remains closed.

>>505461
:Tengu:"IIYOOOOOOOOO! *TONK TONK*"

:Manewis:"Grah!"

The Mecha Tengu seems to control the air around him, I do not believe closing the distance will be as simple as merely jumping at it.

>>505535
I will retrieve the HEAT OAR, but I will need to develop a strategy to close in with the Tengu.
>>
No. 505793 ID: 67bfa9

teleport past him and grapple onto his back, and then stab up his wing joints with your sword
>>
No. 505805 ID: 9ddf68

use your MAGNETIC GRAPPLE LAUNCHER to try and grab his arm with the fan as it seems he needs that in order to control the air around him. Once you got his arm yank on the cord with all of you strength to throw him off balance then teleport behind him and try and cut off his head if you think you can and if not then just go for his wings as I'm sure if we can get rid of this guys flight the fight will be much more even.

Its wind projectiles seem to be mostly vertical columns that it launches forwards. It might be productive to dodge or teleport to the side of them.

use your Magnet Grapple Launcher to grab the side of the wall and use the momentum of being thrown to fling yourself back onto the island.
>>
No. 505984 ID: 9e1727

If you've lost your grip on your HEAT OAR, use the MAGNETIC GRAPPLE to recover it. Then fire the MAGNETIC GRAPPLE at the metal exterior of the building to the right/east (from our perspective) such that your outward momentum carries you in an arc to the right/east and down. If you cna, reel the MAGNETIC GRAPPLE in while doing that so you don't end up too far down.

Once you got your footing against the wall, you can jam your HEAT OAR in horizontally to give yourself a place to stand while disengaging and firing the MAGNETIC GRAPPLE to a new position, then pull the HEAT OAR out when you swing forward.

Of worry is that the Mecha Tengu didn't crash to the ground when it lost one of its wings. It may still be flight capable, just at a reduced level. And even if it can't fly anymore, it can still lean out of that hole in the wall and fling whirlwinds at you.

Damn we can't fight him out here and our battery is getting to low for my liking. See if you can teleport to that door just under him to get back inside, but if you still need to wait for your teleport ability to recharge then see if you can't just slip under him. The last thing you want to do is fight a flying opponent in the fucking sky
>>
No. 512382 ID: 73cb4a

Hrm... He controls the air through that fan of his... But I wonder at his ability to multitask?
Here's my idea. Don't just teleport at him, but keep him busy Deflecting your shuriken and Kunai shots to hit you, if his wind works that way.

The tengu appears to have rooted itself to the wall. I do not believe it is still capable of flight.

My teleporter is still recharging from the last time I used it. I cannot teleport again for several minutes.

:tengu:"IYOOOOOOO! *TONK* *TONK* *TONK*"

Uwah! It is attempting to blow me off of the wall. The MAGNA-GRAPPLE holds strong though keeping me tethered to the island's metal hull, but my progress will be halted unless I can neutralize the tengu, I believe.

How long is the Magnet Grapple Launchers tether? Can you lower yourself behind that doorway below you so you are out of the air attack. And then possibly melt through the door with your heat oar.

Getting through the lower door is looking like a good bet. That way it will need to pursue us into less open terrain.
