Well, you are pretty mean. He does have a point there. I wonder if you could be a little less rough on him while still getting what you want? He might be a little less inclined to betray or disobey you then.

Let the kobold hang onto the note. Ask him what his name is, anyway. Calling him 'kobold' all the time is getting tiresome.

He may be a horrible monster, but you kinda need him to not-die-in-a-desert right now. Stop being a huge bitch and just tone it down to a moderate one.

The little snot's name is Klalmer apparently. I guess I could hit him less and see if that improves his demeanor.

The well is a big ass hole in the ground. The stone looks like it changes down towards the bottom. That water is definitely moving down there.

Don't lean over the well. Wouldn't want a cutebold to push you in.

Now give him a pat on the head or something. The gentle kind, not the bruising kind.

It, uh, doesn't look too wide. You could brace yourself between the walls and shimmy down.

you know what i'd try to do?
i'd blow up the foot of the palm tree with the grenade and put that thing in the well as some kind of ... rope substitute and go down ...

do you think you're strong enough to do this?

What.
You think I can blow up a tree, and then not only drag it over to this hole, but shove it down there as well?

Yeah I could do that pretty easily.

He jumps away when I try this.

Shimmying might work, but honestly I don't know why we want to drop down into an underground river. With no way of getting back up and no way of knowing how far it travels until we come across something more than just riverbanks?

Well, to be honest there might be stuff to eat down there and you'd always have access to water. Plus it's not as fucking hot down there. You have a large quantity of bullets for your rifle, so you could survive for quite some time hunting wildlife. On the other hand, there could be trolls or packs of hostile creatures... Do you think you could survive an underground adventure? How fast is the river moving anyway?

You could just leave Klalmer in the desert, telling him that he can travel on his own to the town. Leave him his canteen of course. You'll be fine with one canteen while traveling next to a river.

The other option is to follow Klalmer across the desert to a town that may or may not be under Kobold control.

I see you're having trouble controlling the vermin, and you're even in danger of getting compassionate towards it, asking for its name and everything.

Back to my idea of fitting it with a makeshift nose-ring, useful both for control and punishment. Should be easy enough to do with your first aid kit and some wire from the shiny pod. Don't forget all the people merciless slaughtered by the bold-things.

And serious, forget about the well already. Head for the town to get violently drunk. You like being violently drunk, right?

i want to see the inside of this well already. you need a secure way back, that's why i suggested the tree and the flashlight won't hold forever, you don't know how much it was in use ... you could die in the dark.

are we voting now? damn the voices in your head are really discordant at the moment.

yeah, there's some cables and shit I can use, I'll tie the bold up so he doesn't go anywhere.
There's a space, and then some slowly running water. I don't notice anything particularly interesting down here, if there's nothing else I should check I'll head back up.

Hey we 'could' have gone all Rambo on that Landkruzer and racked up a massive kill count.

Now that likely would have ended the chapter bleeding out, one clip, a manic grin, and a 'Bolivian Army Ending' in progress...

But we could have done it, and never broken a step.

Like how? We couldn't even get inside the behemoth without crawling on our hands and knees. You can't go rambo like that.
