I deem it appropriate to make this thread now, as content relevant to speculation has appeared today. I admit, there is not much so far, but it is taking a shape to my liking. A questweaver is nothing without readers, do not feel restrained about posting what do you truly think.

it's interesting but hasn't hit it's stride. their was a 50/50 chance the bunny was dead or dying so it unfortunately didn't surprise me.

Good updating speed and writing.
I will withhold judgement until around 50 updates or so.

I have been asked how the sanity meter works. Basically, there are four levels:
High
Mild
Low
None
From top to bottom, the best to the worst. You really don't want Sanity Level: None written in any post. The sanity will drop whenever Mint experiences a traumatic event. It will rise when she feels confident (safe area, a good hug, progression are such possibilities of making the sanity meter rise.)

A full chapter has gone by. There's a lot to discuss about now. The RUN symbol? The THING? Inverted Pi? Shapeshifters?

Mint?

when david walked by the guy, i KNEW the guy was going to get back up. so far it has had no real plot twists. i will say having the first person we make friends with die is kinda a dick move. having his arm ripped off and showing up later would be much better, story wise.

I kinda liked that the bunny died before we could save him. It's kind of jarring and sets a tone.

Don't worry; she'll use her psychic powers to smash through the mirror and... oh, wait, wrong quest. :P

Indeed, I just hope it's the tone that Fool is looking for. I suspect that "examine everything", "check the 4th wall", and comparing panels will be rather commonplace in MintQuest.

We could've saved him, if the puzzle had been solved a lot earlier.

Suggesters wanted to talk to David more than solve the puzzle apparently.

A piece of art? For my MintQuest? I'm surprised and flattered.

I know that I'm a new voice here, but from what I've seen, tgchan has quite a few differences from 4chan/tg. One of the biggest is that posts like "seconded", "thirded", and so on are discouraged. Most of the people visiting /quest/ are regulars rather than random people; I have noticed that interesting or detailed suggestions are preferred over similar suggestions by the community.

Also, remember that people posting on /quest/ are not necessarily in the IRC. Heck, people posting on /quest/ may not even be online at the same time. Asking two people in different time zones to confer takes at least 24-48 hours for each decision, assuming they are in agreement. Asking a half-dozen to do so who have conflicting priorities is even more burdensome.

Also, since you're following the same style of quest, remember some conventions in RubyQuest. EXAMING FUCKING EVERYTHING was a pretty common request, and gave detailed information about every object that wasn't in a locked box. Opening a container generally told us everything inside, unless it was hidden under something else.

By comparison, we needed to open the refrigerator three times to find the object inside. We also missed at least two items, and had a person die on us, in the first chapter. This tends to breed caution (or nonchalance).

Ultimately, what are you looking for? More agreement between the various responses? Less posts suggesting multiple actions? Less time poking and prodding the various objects in a room that might not have an effect? I can't begin changing my behavior when I'm not even sure what you would consider a good change.

>We also missed at least two items
What items do you think you missed?

As for what I want, it is simple. You state you wish to progress with caution, then make it so, I do not mind. In fact, being cautious is really nice. See, the mirror thing, remember? If Sarah would have looked into it, she probably would have lost a bit of SANITY. Though you guys were cautious, and she did not lose that precious SANITY.

I am not against suggestions such as "What is ____" or "What do you carry?" or questions that ask for details about something. However, suggestions that say an action to do are more touchy. Ask all you want, but be careful about what you suggest: sometimes clues about what will happen if you do such are left behind and if they are not given proper attention, may lead to bad choices. I did not choose 1100100000, 800, pi, omega, five (etc) randomly. I'm leaving nothing to random, except perhaps some rare encounters later on that will probably resolve themselves how they are supposed to anyway.

>>We also missed at least two items
>What items do you think you missed?
We missed the piece of paper peeling off the blood-stained wall, and we missed the contents of the triangular chest with the pi-shaped lock (despite finding the pi-shaped key).

I'm afraid you didn't answer the question. Well, you did, but it doesn't make much sense compared to your statements in the intermission. With the intermission, you wanted us to reach a consensus because we can't do everything at once, but here, you're asking us to be careful with what we do because we might risk the character's sanity. I would assume that taking a lot of time poking and prodding various objects in the room would be acting cautiously, but it feels like that continuous poking and prodding is what inspired the intermission to begin with.

What then, exactly, is bother you that you'd like us to avoid? An example would be nice, to make sure it gets through my skull properly. =P

The link should be obvious by then. Some choices are bad and some choices are good, that's why they're choices; by doing everything at once, if some choices are bad and some are good, what am I meant to do?
>>
No. 13577 ID: 0576eb

Say for example, if pushing the button was a bad choice, but checking the other side of the note and knocking on the door/window were good choices. Where does that leave me? I'm not saying those examples are true, perhaps it's the other way around, or none of them are bad, but it's an example.

i missed that statement. i wanted her to look for a pevert in the other side of the mirror

> pi,
so that IS pi? i thought that the main symbol was actualy a math symbol that i forgot how its done and 5.
is this a mathematical uprising?

>>323376
well, unless the protagonist is somehow hollow, the protagonist is supposed to do what it liked or saw as needed to be done.

it does make sense however to do a consensus because the "trap" can become as sample as waiting for someone in the orb to type the right answer, bar some time limit. but what if the right answer is wrong by the protagonist view or even, a trap by itself, so we have to convince the protagonist to not do it?

wehn i realized the scrapped paper near the dial could mean timer, i actualy considered a bomb timer, and so we accidentaly setted a device that would require our attention once in a while.

so, i may have to consider this is a actual message from the entity in the mirror. how can this pose as a solution?

also im considering a "columbia" scenario. a student, a teacher, soon we should bet more school staff and students. maybe even parents?

Pi, or π, is a letter from the greek alphabet. In mathematics, it is equal to about 3.14.

I'm using 'pi' to refer to the symbol like >>323253 which appears to be a broken, upside-down pi symbol.

>>323377
Then do them all. In order or, preferably, good choices first. Part of the point of making choices is possibly making bad choices. If something is recommended which other people regard as a bad decision, they'll normally say "no, don't do that" or "I'm not sure that's a good idea."

Also, the protagonist themselves can make a response equalivant to "are you sure?" If the issue is the mirror in this case, then something like "Are you sure? You wanted me to cover my face before." would be appropriate from Sarah.

Also, note that we have no clue what's a good idea or a bad idea at the moment, beyond looking in the mirror. There are no clear exits, no clear solutions, and no clear time limit. We've interacted with everything in the room. At this point, I suspect most of us are just poking and prodding at random things until something happens.

Rer??? (or Rem???)
Wit???
Open?
Close?

The numbers on the left seem to mean 1100100000, while the -pi looks more like a signature than a mathematical formula.

That's what I'm seeing from the note.
>>
No. 13586 ID: 7b9e35

>>323384
yeah, the pi is a signature, so this note was left by pi, intentionally.

but for what purpose?

>>323383
i cant count how many DMs use "are you sure?" to crash whatever plans the PCs camed up with. i agree with this =3

can i has the code for pi?

Pi to 4 million decimal places

As for keyboard shortcuts, I normally use the Character Map in Windows. It is apparently Alt 227. (Yep, that works.)

it was the alt values i wanted, thx.

weird, my charmap says my values for π are 03C0

Being that an action hasn't been taken might I recommend a means of making the repair on the shovel more sound?

Remove skirt.
No, seriously.
It's a relatively expendable cloth and can firmly secure the shovel head.

At the very least we can rip the skirt, but I still recommend using the whole thing for added strength.
>>
No. 13737 ID: c5f024

Well, I would recommend using the shovelhead to try to pry the door open/pry the mirror off the wall first. We haven't really tried anything with the door yet, and if it will slide open, all we might need is a wedge.

I'm thinking the "caneshovel" is an intentional red herring, as it isn't practical and there isn't much to dig.

Using the dress to secure the shovelhead makes the most sense. Tie it off whole, as we don't have a way to cut the dress into strips very well. It still doesn't give us many places to dig - the hole isn't too interesting - but at least the shovel will be useable more than once.

>>323537
we havent even DIGGEd the hole yet. of all puzzles this was the easiest, she literally already had the string, it was just the case to add the stick to the shovelhead.

we really should try to dig the hole. after that we will still have the stick and the shovelhead.

then we can use her underwear to tie it together

Think she could pull the curtain and cord off the wall? If not with her limited strength, by gripping tight and letting her weight do the work?

She might be a skinny cow, but she has STONKING GREAT TITS that could add to her force.
>>
No. 13806 ID: a701c8

We tried pulling the curtain off earlier >>/quest/159197 but Sarah couldn't take it down. It looks like we'll need something sharp if we want the curtain.

when we are done with the shovel we can sharpen its edges.

or maybe we wont need to '-'
