All right, that's quite enough time you've spent dilly-dallying. You should find yourself a new shape.

also, i'm 100% sure the only thing the boy wants right now is his dog back. if you took on the form of what he wants then you will simply turn into his dog, and he will never get over it.

The glow has led you here, and you have found two children who need a friend. You weigh your options.

Aaron stings with the sharp feel of the recently wounded. Claire has a more gentle hurt - the illness of a long loneliness. But wounds will heal. Sickness is harder to cure.

You choose Claire, the girl, but resolve to help Aaron if you can.

You return to Claire's house. She has retreated to her room, and is now reading a book, titled Princess Mindyswan's Economic Embargo. The air swirls with a strong imagination. She is a good choice.

You must find a shape to approach her in.

It would be wise to use your knowledge of her interests as you choose your new shape. From what you can see of her room, she seems to like owls, bears, nobility, and tea parties.

What shape shall you take?

(Select your introduction shape. This is not a final decision; your shape will be changeable at will, provided you have seeded sufficient imagination.)

*Princess
And not a 'realistic' owlbear. Let's go with a cutesy one, if that's what she likes.

Some sort of gryphon type bear/owl mount for her to ride around on.

A princess needs a magnificent steed. You must be sure she feels quite courtly.

Failing that, some sort of owly-bearly wizard-squire would work. Like her poster.

You consider taking the shape of the Royal Queen of the Owlbears. It is fittingly dignified for one such as you, you think. But perhaps it needs something more. Should you leave it be, or make changes?

And of course, there is your title. What shall you call yourself? Names, unlike your shape, are much less malleable. You need something appealing, yet flexible.

We should try looking a little more friendly/queen-like. Like this?
Also, we needs us a regal sounding name. Something that would work for either gender.

This is good appearance-wise. Now we just need a name. A name befitting the greatest Queen of all time. A name like Eliza Mercury, Queen of the Owlbears

>>
No. 481831 ID: 943463

I don't think we need a last name, and the girl seems young enough that we should supply something easy to pronounce and call out. One or two syllables at most.

Also, since we can change form, I second the suggestion for a gender-neutral name.

How about "Tam"?

You shall be Tam.

You detach yourself from your transition form and settle in to your new shape. It has been a long time since you have taken on a new shape, but the process comes back with the ease of old practice.

But you have almost forgotten how much more real everything in the Kingdom in the Light becomes when you take on your shape. How solid the forms become, how the lines coalesce into a new sharpness.

You let out a monarchial hoot to get Claire's attention. Attention now gotten, you follow up with an elegant and sweeping bow.

“Hoot-hoo! Allow me to introduce myself, Princess Claire. I am Tam, Royal Queen of the Owlbears. May I ask if you have any tea and crumpets? It has been a long journey and I’m feeling a bit peckish, hoooo.”

>“You’re an owlbear? What’s an owlbear? And a queen? Do you have a kingdom? Can you fly? Did you fly from your kingdom? How did you know my name? I’m not a princess. Do you know me? Is there-”

Claire has to pause for breath.

You are Tan of the Stigs legacy. Your family line has kept peace among the kingdom of Avias for many generations, and this peace gives you time to take care of other matters. Claire is one of them. You feel that this Claire is made for great things, and that she needs to be prepared for them. You plan to stay with her indefinitely. And of course you can fly!

"Please Claire, would you like to have a cup of finest Lalsina soup with me? It's very light. It is indeed so light it floats if you don't push it together with your imagination... It's also invisible, not because it is, but because we owlbears like it so."
