You get a rush of different emotions as you think back to the first time you summoned a demon. Now that you think back to it you honestly can't describe the feeling with words. You do your best to describe the event as best you can.

You: It's...It's like discovering you had a whole new sense you never knew about before. Imagine not knowing how to walk since birth and then one day you're finally able to or seeing a new color after you'd seen all the old ones. It's discovering something you'd never of thought you'd ever see.

You: But really...at the same time always knowing about it to begin with? The first time you summon you get this feeling that you've just become a part of something bigger, its empowering! Of course my first time was a bit clumsy, the demon chewed up a bit of my house, but it was still an incredible experience. It felt like no matter where I was or how bad anything went I always had somebody ready to help me. Does that make any sense Ada ?

Ada: ...

You: ...Ada?

You wave your hand in front of Ada's face but get no response. You lift her bangs to get a better her look at her eyes, you see the Aether in her eye's. That's impressive she got it about as fast as you did, but right now there isn't much more you can do but wait for her to be done. She's gonna need a little help after it's over, if you remember correctly after you finished forming a connection with the Aether coming down from the vision was WILD.

This could take a while, but there shouldn't be a problem unless she starts screaming or worms fall out of her mouth or she starts to bleed from the eyes.

Don't draw on Ada's face.

Instead, remove the breakables from the room you are in and get some pillows and leave them around so she doesn't easily hurt herself.

After that get a chair and be patient.

>You wave your hand in front of Ada's face but get no response. You lift her bangs to get a better her look at her eyes, you see the Aether in her eye's.
Aw, dang it, now you’ve gotta repeat what you just said! Oh, well.

Also, hey, she does have extra eyes under her bangs! .....they’re very pretty aren’t they? They’d probably be even prettier without the Aether.

Actually, Fiddler would be more than happy to help because it would speed this up and the sooner we can finish this, the sooner we can go investigate Mojo’s last known location.

But, yeah, this is just a vision and Fiddler can’t do anything to help, so the only thing we can do is wait for Ada to come out of it on her own.

.....actually, Roland, do you know how long this normally takes? Because if it’s taking too long, you might need to go find someone to help!

Do the safety thing with some pillows, and keep looking at her eyes. Not because they are beautiful or anything, you need to look into them to make sure nothing goes wrong. The wonderful, lovely red demon energy should give an idea on how things are going. We might need to look REALLY deeply into that red, to make sure we aren't missing anything. Your faces might have to practically touch for it too. Yes, for safety.

And it's definitely the red that it beautiful, not her eyes. Well, her eyes are beautiful too. But, we aren't going to get lost in them! Nope, that would be weird! The energy is what's captivating. Yep, if we get lost in them, it's definitely because of the energy.

Right now all you can do is just wait it out, there's no big threat to her or you. This is just set up before you can get to the real stuff. You don't remember much from your connection meditations, just that the visions they gave you were crazy.

>>866102
That'd be hilarious but you aren't sure that's the sort of thing you should be doing when teaching something like this. Still... jotting a mustache would be funny as hell for your immature sense of humor...maybe a monocle or two ? would someone with four eyes wear two monocles?

You lose your very important train of thought when you hear Ada screaming. She's finished her meditation pretty quickly, but that's not really a good thing; meditation should go on as long as possible for a better connection to the Aether. You'll work on that later, for now, you should make sure Ada's okay.

Ada: That...That was...

You: Breath Ada, you're done right now. Are you okay? How was it?

Ada: It was intense! I can not believe every summoner has to do that!

You: Every pagan has to do it. It's important to make a connection to the Aether regardless of whether you summon demons or not. More importantly, what did you see?

Ada: Just...A lot of colors and large looming figures and these weird voices talking to me, I did not understand anything they were saying to me but it felt like I was witnessing a whole history being laid out before me. Like I said, intense.

You: That's good, but you need to come understanding what's happened in your vision in the end. It's different for everybody but you should have something. We've got a lot of work ahead of us, we both do.

For now, you've gotten a lot done with Ada, there's still work that needs to be for either of you to get better but some nice progress has been made on both ends. Fiddler Imp is still waiting in the lobby but maybe you can fit in a little more practice with Ada? Or you can just get going with Fiddler, you feel like he's going to get more upset if he waits any longer and that's not good if you're supposed to get him to trust you more by doing this.

>Every pagan has to do it.
So does this mean that Ada is now officially a Pagan? Maybe you should make it official with a Heretic’s Fork somewhere on her arm or something?

>maybe you can fit in a little more practice with Ada?
I think that’s enough for today.

>Or you can just get going with Fiddler
At least bring 1 or 2 people with you! With your luck of unexpectedly running into enemies/Church Priests/monsters/weird shit, you’re gonna need someone to be there with you to back you up!

You can ask Ada if she wants to come, but she doesn’t have to if she doesn’t want to. If she does want to come, make sure she brings some weapons with her.

And make sure you weren’t so distracted by teaching Ada that you end up forgetting to leave those books here!

Flint already knows since you ran this by him first before doing it. No matter how strongly you feel about Ada there's no way you would've done this without permission from a higher up.

You fill Ada in on your plans to help Fiddler Imp and ask if she want's to come. She says yes and goes to get ready to leave with you. While she gets ready you look around to see if anyone is available to help you: Uma is nowhere to be seen, Issei is nowhere to be seen, and Troy is passed out drunk in the lounge. Most of the forces in the Cage seem to be out working on missions for the red team, gathering intel and the like, or resting after having just finished work. It looks like the only person you have to aid you at the moment is Ada which now that you think about it doesn't seem like such a bad thing.

Ada returns ready to leave...

Sounds like we need to be making ourselves scarce as well, I’m not keen on finding whatever they were running from

Keep Aether Scan activated. The extended blood cost is minor over time and if they're running from something you want advance notice of what it is.

...what if the sandstorm is created by a monster? Maybe that's what happened to Mojo.

They were running from something, but what? In fact, you aren't entirely sure if you're still going the right way. That or something dangerous is waiting for you near your destination. You bend down to pick up your hat when you hear something else approach from the same direction.

You don't have time to prepare before it's right in front of you. A masked man on a large bird, a skipper bird, stands in front of you holding a long scythe. Fiddler Imp was quick enough to return himself to the Aether before being seen. The man tries to speak to you, but it's hard to hear him through his mask and the storm. It just comes out as muffled grunts across all the noise, he doesn't seem like a threat though.

He looks around and turns beckoning you to follow him. It looks like he knows where he's going.

If he knows where to go, then you should go ahead and follow him. It’s better than being lost in this sandstorm!

Make sure you hold onto Ada’s hand, so that you don’t get separated from her!

Any way to communicate with him? To ask him where the town is? If he could gide you? Stay close to Ada.

Without much of a choice, you and Ada follow behind him. For a while, all you can do is walk behind him in silence trying to get through the sandstorm until you see what looks like a small town up ahead. As you get closer to it the man's voice can be heard more clearly as the sandstorm dies down a bit.

???: Normally don't get many people 'round 'ere, nobody's dumb enough to walk out this far fer nothin'. It's a blessin' though, church don't come round here neither so we don't gotta worry 'bout them too much.

???: Though I don't think we've ever had pagans come here either, so what brings you round?

How does he know? Did he saw Fiddler earlier?

We are here to find out what happened with a guy who lost his violin somewhere around here 200 years ago. Maybe he died here maybe he keep living somewhere else without his instrument.

How does a town in the desert survive without commerce?

What makes you think we are pagans, besides the red outfits?
We are here looking for someone, that is most probably already dead for over 200 years now.

Good. Those guys are a pain in the ass.

>Though I don't think we've ever had pagans come here either, so what brings you round?
Ask him what makes him think we’re pagans?

If he mentions seeing Fiddler before he disappeared or something else that would make sense, then go ahead and tell him why you’re here.

Wouldn't it make more sense to mention Mojo rather than Fiddler? Maybe even mention his real name Mason Anthem.

What are you talking about? It makes perfect sense because Fiddler was with us here: >>868964 , when this guy showed up. So if he mentions seeing Fiddler before he disappeared, then it makes sense why this guy is assuming we’re pagans when we didn’t even tell him that we’re pagans.

Also, there’s no way this guy was alive when Mojo was here, since that took place 100 years ago, so he wouldn’t mention seeing Mojo.

Well summon fiddler then.
Might as well tell him the truth.

I’m gallows and this ada, we’re here investigating the disappearance of a pagan known as mojo, this was his last known location.

But figuring that out’s gonna take a while so would you mind telling me who you are and a bit about this town if you can.
>>
No. 871018 ID: 33ab15

True, but I find it more likely that this guy may have heard of Mojo since this was his last known location. It just makes more sense to me that’s he may have heard of the man not the demons he summoned. Besides this guy doesn’t necessarily seem like a Pagan so he might not be familiar with demons and summons.

No, pay attention. Right now, we’re asking why he’s assuming we’re pagans, we’re not talking about Mojo yet.

If he answers that he saw Fiddler just now in the present day with Roland, before he disappeared back to the Aether, that will answer our question of why he thinks we’re pagans even though we didn’t tell him that.

You: What makes you think we're pagans?

???: It's not both of ya, just you. Aside from the red you were it's also the smell ya give off. No offense, but ya always stink like blood, ash, and rainwater. Even so, I'm not gonna tell no authorities or nothin'

He lifts his mask showing a familiar scar across his left eye.

???: I'm the last person who'd help the church with anything, same goes for anyone else in town.

You reach the town, a wooden sign at the front reads "Welcome to Sandysprings". The sandstorm as died down a bit but it still seems best that you head inside somewhere.

???: Goodness! I just realized I ain't even told ya my name yet. I'm Pete.

You: Roland, Pete I came here searching for someone who died a long time ago, maybe a little more than a hundred years?

Pete: Well I'm not sure I can help ya, I ain't that old. Maybe ask a few people and you'll find someone, though if it's been that long you'll need to get lucky if ya wanna find anything.

Pete: You can try the Hotel, it's been up and runnin' for years so there could be something there. Plenty of people gather in the Saloon for drinks, there are some old folks there too that might know somethin'. We've also got a General Store, a Barbershop, a Sheriff, plenty of places for you to check.

Pete: Welp, I'm headin' to the Saloon for a drink. By the way, If you see a blonde woman in a white jacket I suggest you stay away from her.

You: That's a pretty vague description.

Pete: You'll know her when you see her, hopefully, she don't take no interest in you. Anytime she's around weird stuff happens. Anyway goodluck on your search! You know where I'll be if you need me.

Pete trots off on his skipper bird and you're left in the middle of town. You have a few places you could go and any of them sound better than sitting out here.

Rude, you didn’t introduce Ada!

>If you see a blonde woman in a white jacket I suggest you stay away from her.
>You'll know her when you see her, hopefully, she don't take no interest in you. Anytime she's around weird stuff happens.
Would’ve been nice if he explained what kind of weird stuff.

Although, with our luck, she’s going to end up being the person with the information we’re looking for. Hopefully, she doesn’t turn out to be an enemy.

>Where to?
The last time we got anything that belonged to Mojo was when we bought it at Ada’s shop. So maybe we’ll get lucky and find something else that belonged to him at the General Store?

Make sure you ask people if they’ve ever heard of Mojo and make sure you use his real name and all that jazz.

This sounds like a terrible idea. Althogh i would love to do it, we might get the atention of the wrong people with Galous's runes. There might be some priests or church's afiliates around, we should be careful.
