That's very ruff. Writequests are getting more and more welcome here, although whether the QMs themselves will mind our, um, ambiance is another question.

Yeah. There's a heavy focus on drawquests here still and the furries are stronk, but we always welcome new blood with open arms.

Personally, I go on /tg/ all the time and I'm glad quests and quest generals are being banned. I don't hate quests or I wouldn't be here, but they sure as fuck aren't related to traditional games and, worse yet, 90% of them are crap.

I've got good news!

The Weaver has recently decided to get himself a Patreon. That means it's even easier for fans to donate money, if they want to say "thanks" for all the art. It's already been very successful in just a few days, and if you feel like giving him a little extra, here are the relevant links:

http://tgweaver.tumblr.com/post/104650901717/ive-joined-patreon-many-friends-and-fans-

http://www.patreon.com/tgweaver

Even better, he's also thinking about making a website of his very own, which will include an archive of all of his art with a convenient search function. The details are forthcoming, but it's certainly good news for any fans who'd like to find more of the stuff he's made. I'm personally looking forward to it very much.

Also, it's his birthday today. Happy birthday, Weaver!

That gum you like is going to come back in style.

A cursory investigation indicates that pornography is indeed banned, but "adult content" isn't.
Details: https://patreon.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/201872047-Is-my-adult-erotic-content-allowed-on-Patreon-

The vast majority of Weaver's art should probably be fine. Just make sure that any posts with NSFW content are marked for patrons only, and if there is lingering doubt. it might be a good idea to make the account private so you'd need a link to view it.
>>
No. 26892 ID: 742b4a

It sounds like, to be safe, Weaver should just not post any porn on Patreon. Which, looking at his patreon page, he is already doing.
>>
No. 26893 ID: c9f250

>Red fucking alert.

Patreon isn't terribly run; they gave notice and the ability to fix things to the pages that needed it.

Anyway, they clarified their stance. Photographic material can't go beyond R rated, drawn material can be porn as long as it's properly marked as NSFW/private.

They're just bad at writing a clear TOS.

Has been up for a day or so and running stable, on mcpc+, and needs players to get things rolling.
It's a weird smorgasbord of techno and magic mods that I managed to get cooperating.

Server rules.. uh.. ask Dylan/don't be a dick.

Originally also had a few entity-adding mods and Ars Magica 2, but removed them. The former to cut down on memory usage a little, and the latter because other servers have had some questionable stability when using AM2.

IC2 experimental is in it because one of the people I was doing the pack for wanted nuclear reactors and junk, the UE reactors have been buggy ever since they were first made, and I'm not too happy with rotarycraft/reactorcraft atm.

The pack's here, http://www.technicpack.net/modpack/details/quantum-thaumaturgy.214318

You'll need to download the technic launcher and plug the platform url from that page into it via "add mod" on the mod slider in the launcher (left side).

If you don't like the technic launcher, get something like MultimMC 5 beta or magiclauncher, and use this for the mods/configs. You probably won't need the bin folder. Just make sure to install latest forge for 1.6.4.
https://dl.dropbox.com/s/watu9ftzt8ob80d/cruck.zip

Leave a message here or /msg midaychi on rizon IRC to report any bugs or give suggestions.
You're a 99% likelier to catch me on irc, tbh.
If you're reporting a bug, please pastebin or dropbox (or whatever) "output-client.log" and "ForgeModloader-client-x.log" (where 'x' is the number of the most recent file) for me. It will really make it easier for me to figure out what's going on.

I saw some die rolls in the thread for Nem's Quest, and there's something I wonder:

Why are the results of dice rolls ON TOP of the post? It gives the false impression that the dice were rolled before posting, which we all know is false.
Why aren't the results at the bottom of the post? It would make it immediately obvious that the dice were rolled after the posted clicked Submit...

Does it matter? Everyone who knows how the dice function works already knows that dice are rolled after you submit.

If I might, I find the die rolls confusing when I re-read my posts. Using Random.org screenshots seems more natural. I've been lurking for awhile and just figured out the die rolls recently. If anyone's got feedback 'bout them I'm listening.

I've been reading boards for years, and I still don't "know" to the point that I instinctively see the rolls happen *after* the post.
After all these years, it's still something that has to be "corrected by the brain" the next second.

This means it stays confusing for a loooong time. It's an extra step one *always* has to take, for no good reason.

I bought Creeper World 3 when it first came out. Loved the previous two Creeper World games. They all run well under WINE.

Steam refuses to offer any game to me that doesn't have an explicit Linux release, so I end up bypassing Steam half the time to buy games from the original authors. Not sure if that's better or worse.

The most best wonderful great time of day is here again!

Seamergency's back around once more, dear TGChan, the 96-hour livestreaming charity marathon of donators' art requests being drawn to life and speedrunners (like those at Games Done Quick) demolishing games in a manner most quick, all towards the benefit of the WildAid charity program, SharkSavers!

Tune in to our Twitch at http://twitch.tv/seamergency to join us as we're gonna be streaming from Thursday going through the weekend to Monday, ending at 6/9PM PDT/EDT!

For a mere 5 dollars (or more) donated towards our cause, you can request a lovely piece of art (just put what you'd like to see in the Comment box) and a chance to win one of the prizes graciously donated by WildAid.
You can also support the cause by buying a shirt at http://bombch.us/m2M with an adorable design made by TGchan's own Malificus!
All money you donate or profits from shirts go directly to the SharkSavers program.

Hope to see you all there!

Hey there TGchan artists! Last year, I bought a Yiynova MSP19U tablet thinking I could use it to replace the Wacom Cintiq 12WX I've had for a while. I tried it once, and didn't really find it to my liking. Now I would like to sell it and give it a new home to one of you burgeoning artist types!

The retail for this is around $600, so I figure I'll let it go for $300 since it is slightly used (or a better offer is made).

If you have any questions or are interested, let me know either here or in #tgchan on Rizon.

Hey Anon, might want to say more words here. The picture shows a really sweet looking product, but your description does not inspire a lot of confidence. Maybe some sort of discussion on what is good about it and why you didn't like it is in order? Otherwise this has the feel of "does anybody want to buy my castoffs?" and it is not a super compelling sales pitch.

Fair enough.

What I liked about it:
+Screen is huge. Lots of real estate to draw on.
+Brightly lit and colorful.
+Has a great stand for setting up the screen, very stable

What I didn't care for:
-Battery-powered pen
-Doesn't work as a multi-monitor set up. The tablet has to be the primary display.
-Uses a VGA cable. Not a big deal, but eh.

Hey which board is best for starting an art thread? I don't have the best artist eye and sometimes I need help telling what's off about something I just worked on. Advice and criticism usually help me work on more art.

/draw/ is where every one puts their art threads.

Since there are a few space nuts around these parts, here is a ROCKETRY SIMULATOR. You can build multi-stage rockets and fire them into the sky where they can fly apart and explode as your little alien cosmonauts panic in the spinning command capsule.

(At one point I managed to make the rocket fall over and explode on the pad, and the command module miraculously tumbled away intact, rolling to a stop upside-down. They weren't impressed.)

Yes, it seems to model atmospheric drag (the command capsule can sometimes overtake the fuel tanks on the way back down), and yes orbit is apparently possible. Here's the pic related doing a very simple straight-up/straight-down flight with nobody* dying:

There's some discussion and talk of 0.8.1 features on RPS: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/07/12/trans-lunar-kerbal-space-program/
Note you can press "T" to toggle stability control on, which you probably want to not explode.

* Except perhaps for the solid fuel booster stage mmmaybe landing back on the launch area. Things do overheat from usage but I'm not sure if drag can cause burn-up yet.

blue is where i'm coming from, purple is where i'll swing by on my way to the green. then i go home again, having deposited about 30 settlers in each planet/system i visit.

widescreen with bar on the left rules^^
also in use: rocketdock with Stack-Docklet for quickstart... and Strokeit for mouse gestures...
My tmp-folder is rather clean at the moment, only 400 files^^
I usually organize everything within my user-folder.

Correct. Hideous wider-than-4:3 ratios already scrimp too much on precious vertical space.

Here is mine again. I actually don't use Matlab: I just keep the icon there to remind myself to learn to use it. I've managed to keep the desktop relatively clear of junk for months now, which is nice.
