Sadly it seems like Marsh's computer problems are spreading to mine now. Starting to have some issue's with my hard drive and had to order a new one.

I'm probably going to play things safe and put the herd on hold until I get things backed up on a hard drive that isn't dying with my main one. Should only be a few days, but thought it would be worth mentioning now in case something does happen and I'm gone for longer.

I'm wanting a "project" to do, so I'm drawing a list of naked chicks and putting them into a size chart like Lucid did for his Journey species.

I'd like to include all the commonly used races, as well as races used in running or completed quests. Nothing from abandoned quests though, that's their punishment.

What I need:
A picture of your race, how tall they are on average, and what the female looks like nekkid. I'll add them to the chart and post it when I get a few of them done. These should be generic examples of the average individual, not specific characters.

What I've got so far: Mok, Cutebold, Dorf, Goblin, Lohrke, Indahl, Cremate.

We are starting with the shorter ones and working out way up. Post anyone that's 5' (~1.5m) and under first; once I get all those done we'll move on to average size.

It would be cool if there was an interactive version that would link to the quest with the race when you click on the character. I have no idea where half of these come from. This is pretty neat though. It is also kinda crazy how this has outlasted most if not all quests here.

TGMUD is a text-based action/adventure game based on the CoffeeMUD engine, which is made in Java. It is currently developed by quest authors and the project is headed by Squeegy AKA John_Freeman. The areas are constantly expanding, new quests, enemies, and things to do are added daily, hourly, even minutely. An optional tutorial is fairly fleshed out, going through the basics of playing before releasing the player on the world with a few cautionary warnings.

The chat channel is #tgmud on irc.rizon.net. The game IP is tgmud.servegame.com, and the PORT is 23.

TGMUD is full of weird bugs and features that are in CoffeeMUD by default. If you see any, report them to The_Littlest_Emo, because he is the best with the TGMUD code.

If I've learned something here is that I'm not a good quest seller. I can't draw, I can't write -- I feel like a retard. And I don't care about it. All I want is tits.

I'm not putting anything in the quests page, reason: trash, before at least some readers accept it in the dis.

What I'd like to run is a quest taking advice from "Quest Advice: All in one place", but completely "losing" it. A degoratory name for the quest is mad quest - the name of the quest wants to be psi quest.

In fact I'd be interested to tap into an universal visual language with textual cues? Crazy. In practise it is:

I'm before a blank paper. Ideas come to me, but they're just ideas. If I turn on my 'draw' action, something starts to come out of my brush. What the heck! If I have sense at all then that expression has sense in it. Like if I open my mouth and speak, those words have sense in them right? Like these. So that's the visual language. Most of the drawing will be incomprehensible, maybe the amount of information will be minimal per update. The updates will look like made by someone who can't draw a stick figure or paint a ball. The things is that the must have life in them from my consciousness and subconsciousness just like I can't stop the chatter of my own thoughts I can't stop the artistic expression, or madness. Maybe this quest is mad. Maybe we just want working information, form and language for our thoughts.

If not, I'm after mindreading, seeing and psiing.

This quest would have a visual style. I use a couple of complementary colors which evolve into black together.

Then is time for You to show interest. If this doesn't catch wind I'm off this site.

I like doing quests but it's pretty obvious I am not good at constructing a coherent plot. Well, what I think is coherent, I think most of the problem is no one has the fucking clue what's going on in my works, and that's a double edged sword. Of course you want the mystery of knowing what's going on and what's the bigger picture, but you want something that makes sense.

tl;dr I ain't even mad, I probably shouldn't make a quest, but for some raisin I continue to do so.

That being said, from Fayz's perspective Nem would just be another voice calling out from the ether, so her being a quest protagonist wouldn't grant her suggestions any special status.

I'm not exactly sure where to post this sort of question, so if this is in the wrong place, please let me know.

I have a concept for a sort of quest that i haven't seen before.
I'm fairly new to this, so I'd greatly appreciate any input you have, on the idea's viability.

I'm trying to create a multiplayer quest, where the actions of each MC, are controlled by a specific MC player, who also writes their dialogue.
The non-MC players, instead play on the side of the QM, making suggestions, and voting on options, to determine world actions, and outcomes,derived from influences outside of the MCs control.

I'm a visual artist, and i'd like to create each of them an avatar, with a set of expression icons, to use, and allow them complete control of their characters posts.

I was thinking, that i would run a twitch stream, allowing players to give input behind the scenes, and make votes to determine outcomes.
I feel like players miss out, on playing the perspective of "the world/god", which i think, is one of the most interesting things about "writing/QMing/DMing".
being in control of fate, is a thrilling, and mind opening experience.
I'd like to open up that experience to the players.

Sounds too optimistic, there are not enough players here to do that really.

While it's not common here, games with multiple players controlling their own characters are usual thing where I came from. It works. But honestly you may want to search for real RPG-oriented place instead.

Your idea is rather intriguing, but there are several possible problems I'll point out.

One: the tg crowd isn't known for doing things on a schedule very well. I think you'd have problems with timing; suggesters coming in too late, completely missing the window of opportunity for their action, that sort of thing.

Two: the tg crowd is fairly small, I think the sheer lack of bodies would cause problems. Maybe.

Three: you might have trouble with the narrative. Often, you'll have multiple parties of suggestors pulling in exact opposite directions from each other, making it difficult to keep a cohesive plot going. Often, no matter what you choose, a certain number of people will be disappointed.

But I'm just poking holes right now, there's a lot of good things to be said about your idea.

Overall, I'd say go for it. The worst that happens is it's unsuccessful, then at least you can say you tried; believe me, that's better than feeling like you could have, but never did.

Idk, I had a lot of projects which never left my head and it's always a pleasure to dream about some new ideas and adventures, and if you never went for it, then there are no hard feelings - you just lost interest and moved on to something else. On the other hands I had games which I still mad about, like several years later I still have butthurt about what happened there, it's scars which will never heal and trust in world which you'll never regain.
But you, OP, should go for it.

We don't actually know for sure if Quadrant 5 was built specifically to keep a Tozol in. In fact it probably wasn't. What we know about Penji's capture suggests (to me anyway) that it was a fluke, an accident of fate. Quadrant 5 was an absolute nightmare to escape from, and Penji wouldn't have been able to do it without a colossal amount of luck and outside assistance (anti-suppress).

Also consider that Penji wasn't the only thing being held there: there were Jabberwocks, supersoldiers, a Valcien... all being researched and experimented upon.

From a meta perspective, yes, Q5 was built to be a problem Penji could potentially overcome, but from an in-world perspective, Penji was escaping from a top-secret *research facility*, not an anti-Tozol prison.

On top of that, Q5's primary problem wasn't Penji; it was Marcus. Yeah, Penji was the greater threat militarily/physically (which is why so much effort was put on her, once they realized she was awake) but Marcus was the one with the plan. A lot of the gains Penji got in the Quest (I'd argue most of them) were because of Marcus doing something elsewhere. She only escaped because she enlisted the aid of a creature that absolutely hates Tozols (unless I vastly misread the Valcien's behavior) and just happened to have a friend spliced with a Valcien on her side. (two, if Marcus counts)

Historically, the ability of a small but elite force to fight a larger force has hinged ENTIRELY on the small force being the attacker, with the ability to melt away and cede territory. The Tozols were the defenders, which SHOULD have put the encounter somewhere more along the lines of the Waco Texas siege. Traps and prep time are great, but overwhelming force is still overwhelming. The difference is that in these force calculations, one able and equipped tozol is rated somewhere between a siege engine and a battlecruiser.

You may not have noticed, but that's exactly what they did. Their strategies almost always revolved around hitting hard and then fading away. The Scellor and the Astranians both landed and their main contesters on the way down were each other.

The Quest unfortunately ended before we really saw how the walker invasion played out but we know from TestPattern's comments that the walker was never going to go down. Which implies to me that this was going to be the point where the Tozols failed/lost somebody. Probably Baj. And once that happened, the Astranians would know the Scellor were not alone.

(also I get the impression that Ellatriz had escaped and/or that the Undermind had already bounced over to her before her Orel was ripped off so the enemy forces would both know about them)

The Tozols were technically the defenders, yes, but the two forces attacking the planet had no idea they were there and the fighting didn't take place at the spire. For the moment the Tozols were not in a siege, they were a guerilla force.

Did you ever write deeply into the lore surrounding Tozol's culture? It was never relevant in Tozol quest itself, so I didn't know.

Like, what does a Tozol society look like? how many Tozol's are actually left? what does their tech look like? How do they interact with other cultures?

That sort of thing.

I ask because I'm about to write some fiction involving heavily the Tozol and the Precursor, and I want to be as accurate as possible with the lore and setting.

I feel that right in the middle of an update, 400+ updates after beginning the quest, is the most ideal timing for starting a discussion thread.

Seriously though it seems like I've been hemorrhaging readers lately. Which is something I'd really like to stop. I want to continue and eventually finish this quest but at a certain point that becomes impossible if there's nobody to actually read the goddamn thing. So, I really need some feedback. What am I doing right, what am I fucking up, what are things that I can do to not fuck up in the future? I can answer questions too if you have any.

I need to finish building up some assets before I can continue. I should have been doing this in the background while Jack was in trenchtown so that there would be no delay, but I have been waiting until I could get my hands on something that will hopefully help me make my art somewhat less shitty moving forward. I'm also going to use this time to upgrade to blender 2.8 and make some other improvements that should make things a little better.

Anyway, it shouldn't take me too long. Say, 2 to 4 weeks. In the future I will strive to have the next section's assets done before I get to the end of the current section, so that I don't need to have delays like this. This'll have a lot of NSFW in it, depending on player choices.

Third time's a charm. For this quest I'm trying to add more overt game mechanics to work with and dumping the more melodramatic writing tone, or at least what I felt was a too melodramatic tone. Hopefully this'll make the world a bit clearer and the tone wont have people taking things too seriously and complaining about other posters in the dis thread. Please don't do that.

Hopefully the super RNG heavy play wont be a put-off, I dusted off an old dice RPG system I never finished to make the 'logic' behind the game. Just kinda the first thing I have at hand. I'm still keeping details obscured so there's some exploration and discovery to be had.

I haven't worked up any kind of concrete plot to things, the rough idea I'm messing with is a kind of endless survival rpg. So the intent is to have mostly dice-rpg style character building and constant world building stuff being generated based on player character actions, and I'm largely just playing dungeonmaster while suggesters get total control over the players' character. No great plots or specific story though, well nothing super rigid anyway. Also shitloads of porn because I need the practice. 8D

I haven't been paying lots of attention to tgchan for a while but people keep bringing it up in conversation now and then so I got tempted. Hopefully I haven't forgotten anything important by just diving in this time. Posting the discussion thread first here so I can link it in the first post in /quest/ itself.
Hopefully all things will go smoothly enough this time and I'll be able to run a long and entertaining thread or two. Also draw lots of porns.

Kind of glad I didn't do the writing for those panels at the time, by the looks of how rough they are my attention was divided pretty thin.
Have an extra doodle, it's not too much of a spoiler, I was doodling to try some things out.
I don't think people will be too wired about spoilers in a half-porn quest I hope.
At least it's a nicer pic than the two panels for this update, it'd just be a bit of a waste to redo them.

Yeah, a little ambitious, but circumstances haven't been too great at the moment so the unpaid stuff was the first to suffer when I had to prioritise. Still, I've been having fun and I'm looking forward to getting more constant updates out sometime. Hopefully the wait isn't going to be too much of a pain for folks at the moment.

I'm not the executive speaker, >>106443 but I don't think you're banned, I think JamesLeng was just feeling frustrated with the way you expressed yourself because it felt as though you were constantly unhappy; I'm sure for you it felt as though things were stacked against you and that the GM was out to get you. I think it's just a case of misunderstandings going unaired and being difficult to resolve via text on a screen because of the lack of personal interaction and difficulties conveying emotions.

Again though, outside interpretation of what happened, I can't speak for either of you. Thanks for updating the wiki- I'm gonna find a cover image and make a new discussion thread so after this whole discussion is resolved hopefully we can talk about the quest in a shiny new thread

And I mostly just use Sai. I am continuously trying to change my settings and practice different things which is another fancy way of saying that I need to practice a lot harder to increase my power.

Generally, if the situation seems right and you guys want to switch views to different members if the (active) casts of the quests, then that's totally possible if even for an image or two update to them. I'm trying some new techniques that should hopefully spice up the stories of both of my quests do they're a little more interesting to read than crazyeyed ratgf in the desert, and dumb Ronin getting in trouble. (though there should still be that too)

You're the Dm behind the Dm's screen. You are allowed to fudge any roll you want so long as you have a good reason. (story or mechanics reason) I trust that you'll be fair, not that you'll be honest. It's fine for us to have shit luck sometimes (or the majority of times), we're used to it; just give us a break every once in a while if it's for an important roll.

I'm juggling less characters than Santova, Kome and Strgy, and I'm already ostensibly in-charge of the Fire Hawks through Dav, so my taking over the other leadership character might make sense.

I'm really not at all confident about being able to manage the resources an nth level caster provides, though (good gods the spell per day preparation), and it feels pretty weird having a PC 10+ levels higher than everyone else.

Any reason why he doesn't work as an npc? I get not wanting one very powerful npc to overshadow player agency, but I sort of thought his position was going to be advice, artillery, logistical support, getting us jobs, crafting spirit sanctums and stuff in exchange for divine or magical favors / resources, etc.

Also I sort of liked having a character in a position to refine plans and rein us in when we come up with plans that don't make sense in-setting, or badly use resources we don't understand well.

Loving this quest so far. It's pretty funny, lewd, and the protagonist Katie is likable and cute. It makes me hope she will make it home alright safely, but at the same time have some fun with the strange predicament(s) she is in at the meantime.
